B12: The Ferry Ale House

Blue n Gold

The Ferry Ale House looks just like any of the other Speight’s Ale Houses. Actually, I’ve only been to the one at the Tower Junction so I don’t know what the one on Bealey Avenue looks like. I’m pretty sure the menu is exactly the same; though the dishes are done slightly differently. I had my usual, the Blue n Gold. For the first time, I also ordered the suggested Speight’s Distinction to go with the fish and chips. Overall, it was pretty good. The dish was nicely presented; yes, that is newspaper. The fish wasn’t as plentiful but it tasted good. The chips wasn’t as crispy as I would have liked but it was alright. The beer was nice and the staff were friendly.

The voucher was for one complimentary main course when another main course of equal or greater value is purchased; up to NZD 25. We saved NZD 22 this time.
